Roger Goes Wild

This is the best dark red that has ever bloomed at Mercers' Garden. It is the fullest, most velvety, most ruffled and holds best in sun.. It has a yellow-green throat and intense ruffling.

It first bloomed at Mercers' Garden many years ago, and it has been thoroughly tested.

So I heartily recommend this as a very good red and a great parent with one flaw: Its color is very dark and dull on the first two or three blooms. Then the color lightens and brightens and the excellent color along with the great form makes every flower seem almost perfect.

No other dark red has its sophistication, presence and freedom of bloom.

Its special qualities include heavy, waxy substance and texture.
