This is our second-best yellow daylily ever, next to Leapin' Lemon. It has very thick, heavy substance and even thicker edges, which are heavily ruffled and bear occasional teeth. There is also a tiny sawtooth effect along the edges.
Some Sunny Day is a deeper, more buttery, color than Leapin' Lemon. And its texture and presence are quite different. It is an easy parent that produces heavy-texture, offspring with all sorts of ruffling. No other yellow has its presence in the garden. Its saturated color carries a great distance, and this one stands out in a crowd. It performs well in many climates and seems to grow well North and South. |
